From the Greek word heureskein which means "to find" (think Eureka!), our Heuristic Evaluation offering helps to identify improvement opportunities and point out potential stumbling blocks in your intranet or content management system. In many ways it functions as a "physical", a routine health check against documented best practices. We conduct these audits as a first step in all our improvement or redesign projects and find them extremely useful in establishing baselines and prioritizing the needs of the systems. While typical heuristic evaluations are focused primarily on addressing usability and design problems within the user interface, we extend them to include a review of your site's technical design, as well as the business policies and processes pertaining to the system (content, publishing, governance, etc.)

Each of our evaluations results in an actionable report which outlines a checklist of all the criteria and best practices the system was measured against along with a score for each, an explanation of the opportunities for improvement within the system, and a list of concrete recommendations to address each shortcoming.
